James C. Sullivan
Jim Sullivan graduated from Boston College and Villanova University School of Law. He was admitted to practice in Rhode Island in 1988 and Massachusetts in 1989. Prior to forming a partnership with his father, Leo J. Sullivan, Jim was an associate at the law firm of Tillinghast, Collins & Graham in Providence and a law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court law clerk pool.
Jim is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). This certification, issued by the National Elder Law Foundation, requires that the attorney pass an examination and demonstrate specialized knowledge in the area of elder law. Jim is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
He is a member of the Rhode Island and Washington County Bar Associations, and the Rhode Island Bar Association's Title Standards Committee, Probate and Trust Committee and Elder Law Committee. He participates in the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island and the South County Hospital Professional Advisory Group. He was awarded the Harold B. Soloveitzik Professional Leadership Award in 2020 from the Rhode Island Foundation.
Donna S. Madden
Donna S. Madden is a graduate of Providence College and Suffolk University Law School and was admitted to practice in the State of Rhode Island in 1988. Prior to her association with Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C., she was employed by the Supreme Court of Rhode Island as the supervisory member of the Law Clerk Pool serving the Superior, Family and District Courts with legal research and courtroom assistance. She is a member of the RI Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association She is also a member of the RI Bar Association Title Standards, Probate, Trust and Elder Law committees.
Donna focuses her practice in the areas of elder law and Medicaid planning, estate planning and administration, guardianships and real estate.
Elizabeth F. Sullivan
Elizabeth F. Sullivan graduated from Boston College and Rutgers University School of Law and was admitted to practice in Rhode Island in 1988 and Massachusetts in 1989. Prior to joining the firm of Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C., she was an associate with the firm of Rice, Dolan & Kershaw in Providence, specializing in civil litigation and insurance coverage issues. Betsy was also previously associated with the firm of Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney in Boston. She served as a Law Clerk to Justice Thomas F. Kelleher of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island.
Betsy focuses her practice in the area of estate planning and administration. She is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
